Corinne Boter is an assistant professor and a post-doctoral researcher with the Economic and Social History Group at Utrecht University. She completed her PhD in 2017 at Wageningen University and Research, where she researched women’s labour force participation and household living standards in the Netherlands during the long nineteenth century.
Within the project Race to the bottom?, Corinne is responsible for composing and analysing two databases: one on textile wages and one on prices and tariffs. She is particularly interested in comparatively analysing the long-term trajectory of the gender wage gap in the textile industry in several parts of the world, among which the U.K, the Netherlands, the U.S.A., and India.
