On 17 May, Aditi Dixit will defend her PhD dissertation at Utrecht University. Her thesis is titled: ‘Asian Divergence in an Age of Globalisation: Textile Manufacturing, Trade, and the State in India and Japan, ca. 1890-1940’. Promotors are Professor Elise van Nederveen Meerkerk (Utrecht University) and Professor Christina Moll-Murata (Ruhr University, Bochum).
